Holidays in Calahonda

Calahonda is located centrally between Marbella and Fuengirola, only a 25 minute drive from Malaga airport and ten minutes from the centre of Marbella. Made up of mostly low-rise apartment blocks, villas and townhouses, from the coast into the hills, Calahonda encompasses both coastal and rural life. There are two principle shopping centres in Calahonda near to the beach, on the eastern side “El Zoco”, and on the western side, “Los Cipreses”. All amenities including supermarkets, restaurants, bars, shops, banks and gyms are within walking distance; however it is advisable during the hot summer months to hire a car if you choose to stay in the hills rather than the coast side of Calahonda, as the walk back up the hills with the heat and humidity can be tiring. To avoid the necessity of car hire, there is a local shuttle road train which travels the main roads in Calahonda, and shuttles passengers from the hills to the coast and vice versa for a minimum fee. The route of the shuttle train passes all amenities and runs approximately every half hour. Situated within the area of Calahonda are four golf courses and a typically beautiful beach. On a clear day with blue skies, you will most certainly be able to see Gibraltar and the coastline of Africa. Calahonda is an extremely popular resort with holidaymakers who are searching for sun and sea in a self-sufficient community, because it has everything to offer without having to travel too far.

Holidays in Riviera del Sol

Riviera del Sol also located on the coast between Marbella and Fuengirola, is situated adjacent to Calahonda, and is only a 25 minute drive from Malaga airport. Riviera del Sol, already a popular residential urbanisation is fast becoming an attractive holiday destination for tourists. Due to demand, this area has been extensively developed in recent years to accommodate the increase in visitors. Miraflores golf course and golf school is situated within the Riviera del Sol urbanisation, making it also a great holiday destination for keen golfers and there is also lawn bowls for the holidaymaker who enjoys this relaxing pastime. Amenities including bars, restaurants, supermarkets, shops and banks can be found in the Riviera Plaza and all are within walking distance. Opposite Riviera Plaza is a beautiful and peaceful park with gardens, Parque Princesa Diana, where you will be able to while away the time watching the kids play.

Holidays in Cabopino

Puerto Cabopino is a small picturesque sports marina, located halfway between Marbella and Fuengirola. Renowned on the Costa del Sol as being secluded and having one of the most beautiful beaches, watersports, fishing and sight-seeing boat trips including dolphin watching are widely available. Cabopino is situated in a cove boasting lovely yellow sandy beaches and further along, is a nudist beach. Only five minutes from Calahonda, you will be able to enjoy sunset strolls along the beach or a romantic meal from one of the restaurants located in the harbour. Many of the holiday apartments overlook the port and an 18-hole golf course is nearby. There are many restaurants in the port and the “catch of the day” fish is served off barbecue areas of the beach bars. Alberts, one of the best known restaurants on the Costa del Sol is located in Puerto Cabopino.

Holidays in Elviria

Elviria is located close to Calahonda, and only 10 minutes from Marbella city centre. Elviria is a well established popular holiday destination and is ideal for families. Amenities including shops, supermarkets, bars, restaurants and the beach are within walking distance. A tennis club and the world famous golf course, Santa Maria Golf and Country Club are nearby. Elviria is considered a beachside resort; however, a few minutes inland, it offers beautiful mountainous countryside with fantastic sea views. Nearby is Golden Beach, giving those who enjoy walking, the opportunity to walk to Los Monteros and then onto Marbella, or Puerto Cabopino. Both Marbella and Puerto Banus, a short distance from Elviria, offer superb dining facilities, luxury yachts to gaze at with wonder and stylish boutiques to browse.
